Today is a special day because we are reminded of the triumph of Christ over death. He defied what is humanely possible and took his seat on the throne of immortality.
All this was done so you and I could have eternal life. No sacrifice, (even the ones our mothers make) will ever supercede the one of life
Im resolving to remember that in the coming week. That there is a love that trumps all my pain, fear and worry.
Our sin was strong, Even the forbidden road’s trail didnt lead to the land’s we’d travelled. We were past saving standing at the edge of the cliff of God’s patience.
So the son of man, pure of heart chose to wear sin as skin and become so he could save us.
He held our butter fingers teaching us how to hold on to our salvation, Washed our feet so he could teach us to kneel.
We were blinded. Not deserving of fixating upon such majesty all we saw was man.
And we did what we do best didnt we? Threw away our diamonds and picked on pebbles. Our stumbling rocks.
Nailed our saviour to the cross trying to save ourselves.
So he bled and there will never be blood for holiness so great as that which touched the ground that night.
The night that a man chose to give himself up for me.
I could hardly give up sin for him.Or my time. My hand. My kindness. Or my good will. I am selfish with the grace he gave me.
but he gave all knowing he would receive nothing.
The greatest sacrifice came in crimson and flesh just for you and me.
